Traditional Slow Cooked Bream

Fish

  • Cut your whole bream into two pieces.
  • Add your bream to a pot with 1 cup of water and add 2 tbsps. Of Yalelo traditional fish spice
  • Add 1 tbspn. Salt to the pot and set to boil for 10 minutes.

Gravy

  • Put oil in your saucepan and let it heat up. Add onions and cook for about 30 seconds.
  • And your chopped onions and mix well while they cook together.
  • Add paprika, salt and tomato paste.
  • Cook on medium heat for 5-8 minutes until well combined.
  • Pour the sauce onto the fish in the pot and let the fish slow cook for 10-15 minutes

Serve with nshima and your favourite local vegetables.

1 tbsps. Salt

1 Chopped Onion
1 Chopped Tomato
1/3 Cup Tomato Paste
