Smoked Fish Cakes

Elevate your palate with our smoked fish cakes, a delectable fusion of smoky richness and savory delight—a culinary experience like no other!

Prepare the Fish heads:

  • Shred the Yalelo Smoked fish into small pieces. 
  • Combine mashed potato, smoked fish, and chives. Roll into a patty shape.  
  • Dip the patty into the egg, making sure it is fully coated and then fully coat the patty in Yalelo-spiced flour. 
  • Heat oil in a pan and carefully add the flour-coated fish cakes. 
  • Fry the fish cakes for 5 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown. 
  • Serve with a lemon wedge.  



  • 2 Large Yalelo Smoked Fish 
  • 4 Potatoes, Boiled and Mashed 
  • 2 tbsps. Yalelo Traditional Spice 
  • 2 Cups Flour 
  • 2-3 Eggs, Beaten 
  • Cooking Oil 
  • Chives
